Morning Walk Dumps

(post written on 2/5/09)

ok. the burg has been a bit cold for morning walks the last few days, here are a few things from a bit ago:

there is just something strong about a man in a boot - carpenters, construction workers, line men, cowboys, motorcycle guys, etc. leather again, it keeps coming to me lately - I am getting ready to do some simple line designs in leather - it is so much fun - the Native American line in simple leather design is calling me - the great thing about working with leather is that there are so many things you are able to produce with little or no machine - I dig that.

heard an advertisement on WUSF http://www.wusf.usf.edu/wusf-fm/ for the Waldorf School event on 2/14 at the Dunedin Country Club - sounds top drawer doesn’t it?

I sure like making deposits instead of withdrawals - a few checks have come my way lately!

Year-end statements are up - however, I know they have dropped off again - yet, I am thinking they aren’t quite as bad as 3rd Q’s -

at the Ybor Market this is one comment I overheard a grandmother tell her daughter:

‘these dresses are hard to care for, you have to handle them with such care and iron them’ -

and yes, she is right, and I am thankful she is not our customer.  She most likely has never purchased garments valued over $50 per piece for her grandchildren thus, she doesn’t fit into our definition of a QRubini customer.  As all things of great value, QRubini garments must be cared for properly -  and yes, you have to iron most of our pieces - ironing is actually mediative - try it sometime when you are not in a hurry with it and you will see - it feels good getting all those wrinkles out!

men’s ties and leather keep coming to me - a bag with a vintage men’s tie to work as the strap - a QRubini logo hand sewn into the one side and a peace sign on the other - I can’t wait to make it -

winter in the burg is so swell.  the light on the harbor is so intense in the morning sun - the clover glistens in the sun and my eyes let it move my soul to oneness with the earth that I wish everyone could witness every morning - it cleanses your core this intense beauty found in Vinoy Basin - I am so thankful that my father brought us here.

cu longing for my next walk,

voh
